Visual Field Test for Blepharoplasty: Taped vs Untaped Is the File
A visual field test for blepharoplasty — taped versus untaped — is what usually decides function (covered) versus appearance (not). ReliveCure tapes the field before upper-lid surgery. We do not dress eye bags as medical.

A visual field test blepharoplasty file is not a formality. A visual field test for blepharoplasty — taped versus untaped — is how we show function. Insurers ask whether the upper lid is blocking function. The honest document is a taped versus untaped field: lids as they are, then lids taped up. If the field opens when the lid is lifted, that is a function file. If nothing changes, appearance was the story. ReliveCure tapes the field before we talk upper-lid surgery. We will not write “cosmetic improvement” as if we wanted that wording on a claim.
This is the test sibling of functional blepharoplasty insurance. Read that URL for the operation. Stay here for the printout. Call +91 96500 23161. Screening first in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Pune or Mumbai.
Why taped versus untaped exists
Skin and fat on the lid can sit on the lashes and cut the upper field — driving, reading a high shelf, missing a step. A photograph of “tired lids” does not prove that. A field that improves when we tape the lid does. That is the PDF action: taped field before every upper-lid case we intend as medical.
Ptosis insurance uses lid-versus-pupil plus field. Eyelid surgery is the clinical pillar. This page is the piece of paper.
What we will not do: invent a deficit. Dress lower eye bags as a field problem. Tell you to write “elective procedure” on our notes.
The test itself is usually an OPD field — the same unpaid-test bucket as OCT insurance unless a rider exists. Keep the printout anyway. It is what the operation claim stands on, even if the field invoice is yours.
What the source table lets us put in rupees
India private-market bands (not ReliveCure quotes):
| Item | Range | Typical cover | What decides |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upper blepharoplasty — functional | ₹45,000–1,10,000 | Covered | Taped vs untaped field |
| Upper blepharoplasty — cosmetic | ₹45,000–1,10,000 | Not covered | No functional deficit |
| Lower blepharoplasty / eye bags | ₹55,000–1,30,000 | Not covered | Cosmetic by definition |
| Ptosis correction — functional | ₹40,000–95,000 | Covered | Lid vs pupil; field |
Exact figure after evaluation. Parent: eye surgery insurance in India. Usually / typically / depends on your policy. Cashless option also available. May not be as well — depends on the personal case.
Low vision devices are not this operation. Do not mix 80U into a lid claim.
Documents that win (and words that lose)
Bring: the taped and untaped printouts, photographs of lid versus pupil, visual acuity. We keep copies.
Lose: “for cosmetic improvement,” “patient desired better appearance,” “elective” as if those were clinical facts we wanted. If a file already says those, a valid function case can still be queried. We set the expectation at enquiry. EMI exists for true cosmetic lids. We do not pretend otherwise.
Call this week versus a photo consult
This week: you cannot see the dashboard, lashes sit on the cornea, a field you were told is cut by the lid. Phone +91 96500 23161.
Evaluation: you want upper lids lifted and you are asking whether bima will look at a taped field first. Yes.
Not this page: lower bags for photographs. Fillers. A seeing child with a white reflex.
Where ReliveCure fits
You come in. We tape. We print. If the field is function, we take you through upper-lid surgery as a clinic. If it is appearance, we say so before anyone books a theatre. Cities: Gurugram, Hyderabad, Pune or Mumbai. We will not guarantee cover. We will not skip the test because a photograph looked convincing.
Free eye evaluation. +91 96500 23161.
