Squint Surgery Insurance in India: Function, Double Vision, Not a Wedding Date
Squint surgery insurance in India usually follows function: a child’s parked vision or an adult’s diplopia is medical. Alignment only for a photograph is appearance. ReliveCure measures first.

Squint surgery insurance in India is the search after a turning eye that relatives said would “grow out,” or new double vision that a stronger pair of glasses did not fix. Strabismus is a misalignment of the two eyes. Insurers still ask: function or appearance? A child whose brain may switch one eye off (amblyopia) is a medical clock. An adult with diplopia is a medical file when the notes say so. Alignment only for a wedding photograph, with no visual need, is the appearance side — and appearance is not paid.
You come to ReliveCure in Gurugram, Hyderabad, Pune or Mumbai. Clinical fork: squint surgery. Children and infants with other clocks: pediatric eye surgery. Thyroid push: thyroid eye disease. Parent: eye surgery insurance in India.
What insurers actually look at
Children: glasses (especially high hyperopia driving an inward turn) and patching or atropine for amblyopia often come before muscle surgery. Theatre because a photograph is next month is not the medical order. When surgery is offered, notes should show why alignment is needed for vision or fusion — not “elective.”
Adults: long-standing cosmetic alignment is one story. Sudden double vision is another: nerve palsy, thyroid, myasthenia, trauma. Do not park a new vertical double behind “I need a stronger pair.” Prism in glasses can be a trial. Prisms are an optical appliance in the source list — usually not covered.
Botulinum for nerve-palsy diplopia is usually covered when diplopia is documented. That is not the same sitting as a full muscle plan.
| Item | India private-market range (not a ReliveCure quote) | Typical position |
|---|---|---|
| Prism glasses | Rs 3,000–15,000 | Not covered — optical appliance |
| Botulinum for nerve-palsy diplopia | Rs 15,000–35,000 | Usually covered — document diplopia |
| Eye-muscle surgery | No PDF rupees | Function vs appearance decides cover; exact ReliveCure figure after measurements |
We will not invent a muscle-surgery package on this page.
If the story is a white pupil or a cloudy infant cornea, stop this URL and go to paediatric / congenital pages the same week. A turning lid (entropion) is not a squint. Thyroid eyes that look pushed forward need the orbit page as well as alignment measurements. ReliveCure will not skip to theatre because a wedding photograph is next month.
Patching is a school-week plan a parent can actually run. It is OPD, not a theatre claim. Skipping glasses because “surgery will fix it” is how amblyopia is missed and how a later claim looks cosmetic when it was always a vision file.
Notes that survive
- Cover tests at near and distance; cycloplegic refraction in children
- Diplopia in the adult summary
- Why surgery versus glasses and patching
- Not “patient desired better appearance” / “elective procedure”
A second procedure as a child grows is common enough to mention in consent. Over- and under-correction exist. ReliveCure will not promise stereo vision from one sitting.
Call today versus a planned measurement
Same day / same week: sudden double vision, a white pupil, an infant cloudy cornea. Call +91 96500 23161. Those are not this URL’s booking product.
Booked evaluation: long-standing childhood turn, intermittent inward turn at homework. Time for dilation. A home video helps. It does not replace cover tests.
Cashless option also available. May not be as well — depends on the personal case.
Measurement ke bina theatre nahi.
